Wow. I was really shocked to hear about the whole Steve Irwin thing. It was only the 3rd documented case of someone being killed by a stingray in Australian history (although experts estimate somewhere between 17-20 have been killed worldwide in the last decade).
He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Steve's death is tragic as he was one of the few genuine wildlife conservationists that you could see was 1000% dedicated. His sheer enthuisiasm for the subject is unsurpassed by anyone on the planet i think and on any subject lol. Steve just loved what he did and you could see that in him.

A great loss to everyone as he was an Australian National and World Icon. Worst part for me is that there will never be anymore programs made by him as these are where you could clearly see his passion, such a tragic loss.

I certainly agree with most of what you have to say. But from what I saw he often tormented the crap out of a lot of those gators. I'm not sure that was a good thing.

I agree and apparently the tv network that was filming that day and has footage of the stingray incident, experts have said he was making it unsettled and tormenting it before it happened.

Still a hell of a way to go.
