Default 2006-07 Bowl Season Confidence Pool

I thought we might have an informal bowl game confidence pool. I was in one last year and it made the college bowl season so much more interesting. The games involving Eastern Carolina actually have some significance.

Here's how the confidence pool works.

1. You pick the winner of each of this year's bowl games. You aren't picking against the line. You pick games straight up. (I included lines, just as a quick reminder of where Vegas set the odds on these games. I will have it right in front of me, so I figured everyone else should, without having to search around.)

2. The catch is you assign a number value to each pick. These are based on the confidence you have in the pick. You assign numbers between 1 and 32, though you can only assign a particular number value to one game apiece. (Ex. You can only give one team/game a confidence rating of 32.) To the game you are the most confident in picking, you assign a confidence number of 32. To the game you are least confident in picking, you assign a confidence number of 1.

3. If the team you picked wins their bowl game, you get the number value you assigned to that team/game. We add up all the scores, and the person with the most points by the end of the bowl season wins.

EXAMPLE: I am absolutely confident that O.S.U. will skunk Florida. This is the game I feel best about, so I pick Ohio State and place a 32 by the pick. So a list of picks might start to look like...

OSU 32
Southern Miss. 11
Cincinnati 3
LSU 18
Wake Forest 29

...and so on for all 32 games. (I sure hope I listed them all. Let me know if anyone sees any discrepancies.)

I'll make my picks later. This took a little time in and of itself.

I was amazed at how many of these I had little confidence in.

Ended up with that one game I hadn't picked at 29, and couldn't remember which one I left out. Turned out it was that scintillating Clemson/Kentucky game. Thought about moving games around, but then I decided, "Kentucky usually sucks", and just stuck Clemson there. Now I have all kinds of confidence in Clemson.

Here's goes nothing.
