Payback Time
Bonds has spent years thumbing his nose at the media, and now it's their turn to pay him back. Some people like to accuse the media of racism in their persecution of Bonds, but I think it's just good old-fashioned spite. You screwed with us, now we're going to screw with you.
Unprofessional? Yes. But who ever accused "sports journalists" of having ethics? I do find it interesting to note that Mel Kiper Jr. is a very vocal defender of Bonds. He has publically taken the stance that he will consider Bonds innocent until overwhelming proof is shown to the contrary. Of course, some would say that overwhelming proof was shown months (or years) ago. Still, nice to see someone in the sports media actually believe in the saying "Innocent until proven guilty."

I noticed today where Bonds' 715th home run ball sold on eBay for $220,100 after receiving 69 bids.
