The GEM is on a distinguished road
Default Well, I did it again:

Well, The GEM did it again:

That 500 pound bet I put down on Pittsburgh when in Scotland
won me 5000 pounds or around 10,000 dollars.
Not bad, Pittsburgh at the time was 10-1 to win Superbowl XL

The thing that amazes me the most is whenever a team loses,
right away the people who bet on that team, or
the people where that team resides.
Right away they say,
They got hosed by the officials - (Eg. Mike Griffin)
Anyone could see it was interference in the end zone.
You could see as plain as day that the ball was on the goal line
before the quarterback or the ball even hit the ground when he took the dive.
People just refuse to give the winning or better team credit.
But that's society for you, you'll never please everyone.
Especially the ones from the losing side.

Good for you winning that bet, The Gem.

Good points, too....for some reason no one wants to fess up to simply betting on the losing team, they have to have something to blsme it on or rant about how they got screwed.

Go figure.

I worked for a sports service in Vegas and the guy who ran it said, "They have to have someone to blame there losses on, so here I am."

Default The Woodstock Generation

What is really even more amazing are the folks who say they had the winning team for huge sums of money. It's kind of like all of the Baby Boomers who say they were at Woodstock. A survey in the late 90's indicated that if everyone were there who said they were there, that a half a million folks would have participated.
And anyone who believes that those were clearly good calls isn't listening to numerous football folks who are far more knowlegable than us website groupies. The officiating in the NFL this year was clearly terrible according to the majority of NFL coaches and analyists. In the playoffs, they even missed calls after viewing the instant replays. And this continued into the Super Bowl itself. I am quite sure we will see a strong movement to improve the situation for the coming seasons. I really believe that anyone who does not concur with this is badly in need of a red and white stick and a dog.

Default Yes, You Did The Gem!!

Good Call The Gem!! I've Been Reading You Threads As Of The Last 4 Weeks. No Matter How The Game Was Officiated, Seahawks Were Goin To Lose, People Make Assumptions That If The Seahawks Had Gotten That Calll, That The Rest Of The Game Was Going To Proceed The Way That It Did. Obviously If The Hawks Had Gotten That Call In The End Zone, The Course Of The Game Would Have Changed. I Don't Know A Great Deal About Stats And Figures But I Can See When A Team Is Dominated And I Saw Enough OVER THE LAST 4 WEEKS To Take Pitt And The Under!!!!!!!baby-----Go The Gem!!
P.s You Enjoy Betting More When You Bet Within Your Means And Can Afford To Lose! It Makes You More Of A Sport NoT A Sore Loser. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS!
