Default Week 17 picks

Buffalo -1 1/2. Should be an easy victory over a terrible Jets team. They showed a glimpse of how well they can play last week, I expect to see the same this week. Look for this opne to get out of hand.

Over 50 1/2 KC vs Cin. Each team should put up 20+, seems like a pretty good bet.

Over 43 1/2 Dallas vs St.louis. Martin and the rams will put points on the board in this one and Dallas is going to have to keep up or they are out. This should be high-scoring.

Under 43 1/2 NYG vs Oakland. Oakland wont score much here and Giants wont light up the scoreboard either.

Anyone else picking this week?

Village Idiot is on a distinguished road
Default Week 17

The games today may have an impact on whether teams are playing starters tomorrow or resting them for the playoffs, so I'm making my picks for tomorrow after I see how the Giants and Chargers do. Here's the one pick I'm comfortable with today. I'm leaning towards picking the Giants against Oakland, but I may just lay off entirely until tomorrow.

I have the Giants at -9 against the Raiders, which is just enough of a spread to make me worry. The Raiders suck and the Giants need the win, but they might coast to a touchdown win. Probably, they will win in a laugher. Two things give me pause. One, the Giants have several injuries, including Shockey as a scratch from the game. Two, the Giants have been a different team on the road this year. They are 2-4 away from home, with a couple of real ugly efforts. (I'm not counting the Saints game as "away", since it took place in the Meadowlands.) Crossing the country, the Giants may not play up to snuff. That being said, after their loss to the 'Skins last week, this should be a bounce back effort. We saw the Cowboys bounce back from their loss in Washington in six days, so the Giants should have the werewithal to do the same.

But I may want to be free of football constraints for New Years, so I'll probably lay off this game altogether. Happy New Years, everybody, and I'll post again in the morning.
