TV Poker Marathon
High Stakes Poker fans should set their DVRs (or VCRs) for 8 p.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 13 for a special four-show marathon ending at midnight. The GSN exclusive cash game poker series is sponsored by Columbia Pictures and MGM studios promoting the upcoming James Bond movie, Casino Royale. The High Stakes Poker marathon will include behind-the-scenes footage of the film as well as interviews with the actors.
The theme of the 21st adventure of James Bond (played by Daniel Craig) revolves around the elegant Casino Royale. Her Majesty’s secret
service agent, “007,” finds himself heads-up against villain Le Chiffre in a high-stakes poker game. Le Chiffre is a banker to the terrorists and Bond must defeat him to topple the terrorist network.
High Stakes Poker is the only cash game of poker on television with a $100,000 minimum buy-in. Unlike other poker shows, the players often have several hundred thousand dollars of their own cash at stake.
