Newhouse Wins WPT Event
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Mark Newhouse of Chapel Hill, N.C., beat more than 500 other competitors to win a World Poker Tour event at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa.
In competition that began last Friday and ended late Tuesday, the 21-year-old Newhouse won $1.5 million, the richest purse in the Borgata tournament's four-year history and the richest ever offered in Atlantic City, according to Borgata spokeswoman Noel Stevenson.
