Poker Hand Rankings is the first thing that you should be very familiar with if you want to play poker. Otherwise, how would you know if your hand is strong enough to raise a bet or not?

Poker Hand rankings refers to the order in which different sequences of combinations of cards rank to in order to decide the winner. For example, if you have a sequence of numbers and your opponent has no sequence, then, your hand is strong because you have a high-rank combination in your hand.

The Royal Flush

This is the highest possible rank in a game of poker. A Royal Flush is a sequence of A, K, Q, J, and 10. This is also called as Straight Flush.
Straight Flush

Five cards in a sequence, of the same suit. An Ace can be used in the highest straight (10, J, Q, K, A) and in the lowest straight (A, 2, 3, 4, 5).
Four-of-a-Kind

Four cards of the same number or face value (“quads”).
Full House

Three cards of one number or face value and two cards of another number or face value. If more than one player has a full house, the full house with the highest ranking three of a kind (“trips”) wins.
