What's your favorite gambling movie? It can be any movie where winning/losing money by betting is the central theme.

Poker movies like Rounders are okay, but I'd have to pick The Hustler as my favorite.

The Hustler is probably also my favorite, although I thoroughly enjoyed the sequel, The Color of Money too. High Roller, the new movie about Stu Ungar, was good, but certainly not in the same class as the other two.

California Split with Elliot Gould....whoever wrote that knows the business...there's one scene where they are on a roll at a crap table and some lady sticks her hand on the layout, bets Any Seven!, gets hit by the dice, and it's a 7-out.

I forgot to mention The Cooler with William H. Macy and Alec Baldwin. That's a dynamite movie.

No exactly a movie but a TV series..
my fav gambling drama is "All In" from Korea...

Is the movie "Casino", with Robert De Niro, actually about gambling at all? I'd been meaning to rent it but haven't had the chance yet.

I would consider Casino more of a mob movie than a gambling movie. The casino is more of a backdrop for the story.

As for my favorite gambling movie, how about Casino Royale? I think there's a new version due out later this year. Some new guy is playing Bond.

I really wonder as to how much gambling that movie is going to feature? Then again, maybe they'll go in a whole different direction and have James Bond take on Michael Madsen's "Matador" from the hit ESPN poker-drama Tilt.
