Bingo halls start serving liquor as the industry's numbers begin to strengthen.
In London, Ontario, bingo halls have been in the process of introducing alcohol to local bingo halls. This new strategy aims to attract more players and keep bingo halls from closing. "We're trying to encourage a younger demographic," said Ab Campion, spokesperson for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, who has been in talks with industry representatives for about 18 months. So now bingo halls will be allowed to apply for a liquor license - but so far, none have done so. It's a pretty big decision for a relatively small business to make, but they are competing with casinos and other places that serve alcohol.

Just a question - Is bingo a big thing in Canada? What about the US?

I can't really speak for Canada, but it's pretty popular here in the U.S. From what I've read, I don't know if people are as passionate about it as they are in Europe, but I don't really play much myself.
