North Versailles police seek bingo robber

North Versailles police are trying to track down a woman who they say robbed a bingo hall Thursday night.
Chief James Comunale said the woman entered the Eastland/Crestas bingo hall about 8:45 p.m., pulled some type of covering over her face, brandished a semiautomatic pistol and demanded money. She ordered the 60 bingo players to the ground.

Comunale said the woman grabbed a cash register drawer that contained about $2,000, took some money from a table and ran off.

No one was injured.

The bingo hall is on Navy Marine Corps Way, a quarter-mile-long street that connects Route 30 to East Pittsburgh McKeesport Boulevard.
Comunale said he will have extra patrols in the area on Tuesday, the next night for bingo at the hall.

The suspect was described as black, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a slender build and braided hair. Anyone with information on the woman should contact North Versailles police at 412-823-1111.
